ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PROJECTS At present the world is faced with a complex environmental situation. Everyday the air, soil, water, human beings, fauna and flora are endangered. Major Projects Environmental studies have been important engagements for MCE. The database related to environmental factors and possible solutions to pressing problems have been growing within the company. Major projects are:
MCE was engaged in environmental impact assessment and training staff of 6 ADP. CIDA/WVE supported multiyear FFW (M/FFW) projects and Training staff.
MCE has undertaken Baseline Survey Study and Preparation of Management Planning for 5 sub-kebels of Ankober Woreda.
The study comprised the assessment of the environmental impact of the construction of a dam, the impoundment of water and the provision of improved water supply and recommendations for mitigation measures. The service was provided by MCE in joint venture with DEVECON Engineers and Architects.
The study covered the assessment of the environmental impact of the implementation of water supply schemes in the 7 towns of Bahar Dar, Dessie, Gondar, Gore, Mekele, Nazret and Zeway. Part of the work was undertaken by MCE as Sub-Consultants to DEVECON.
The appraisal was carried out in Egypt by MCE forming part of an expert team set up by the African Development Bank. |
